Amber is not a stone like any other: it is a conifer resin, fossilized over more than forty million years. The amber in our jewelry comes from the Baltic Sea, home to most of the world's amber deposits. Storms loosen it from the seabed and wash it up on the beaches, where it is still gathered by hand; it is also extracted from the ground near the coast. Nicknamed "the gold of the North", it has been worn and traded since prehistoric times. Its color ranges from honey yellow to cognac, with greener or more orange hues, and it sometimes holds tiny fragments of plants or insects, traces of a vanished forest. Light and soft to the touch, it warms up quickly against the skin.

To care for your jewelry, clean the amber with spring or distilled water, then dry it immediately with a soft cloth to avoid residue or scratches. Monthly cleaning is recommended to maintain its quality and beauty. Note that amber can change color in reaction to the skin, perfumes and pollutants. If the amber loses its shine, gently apply sweet almond oil and polish with a microfiber cloth to restore its luster. To recharge its energies, expose it for a few hours to natural sunlight, no longer: prolonged direct sunlight can darken its color.
